Transition Services
TriTek Solutions, a leader in the delivery of customized Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions, provides a complete portfolio of design, development and implementation skills and services that complement and supplement client business and technical teams. Transition Practice
Since our inception over ten years ago, TriTek has been assisting clients with the myriad challenges associated with transitioning ECM systems and applications to current technology releases. While these efforts occasionally involved replacing IBM FileNet-competitive frameworks, more common has been the transition from FileNet legacy environments to current product suites. Most applicable was TriTek "Jumpstart to Panagon" program which enabled WorkForce Desktop clients to transition to the Panagon platform through a series of tools that programmatically converted applications to Visual Basic.
Based on experiences from many years of providing transition services to IBM FileNet's customers, TriTek has earned a reputation as the go-to transition partner for all IBM FileNet systems, and has enabled us to develop a unique suite of services and technical utilities automating the transition of numerous unsupported releases of legacy FileNet products. During those transition engagements, we were instrumental in cost justifying the move by evolving the business applications both technically and functionally, thus enhancing the overall value of the resulting solution to user and departmental needs.

System Assessment Services
A critical first step in any transition engagement is to identify the comprehensive scope and vision of the effort. TriTek's resources work with our clients to thoroughly identify and evaluate all of the current, or “As-Is,” business processes and supporting technologies. We consider the business and system inputs, outputs and associated user tasks and steps. As we inventory the components of the current state, we evaluate them within the context of the destination technologies. By analyzing the business elements within this context, we ensure that the resulting solution will effectively maximize the full capabilities of the IBM FileNet P8 framework.
Technical Design Services
Once the Assessment phase is complete and the business objectives have been identified and evaluated, we initiate the design of the future state, or "To- Be" solution. The emphasis of this system design is to fully exploit the additional functionality and corresponding value available in the IBM FileNet P8 product suite. The result is often reengineered processes and content types that more effectively leverage the technologies.
In addition to the emphasis on leveraging the capabilities of IBM FileNet P8, TriTek's design methodology also emphasizes maximizing existing technologies that will be maintained. Specifically, current state solutions often include background performers or utilities that need not be replaced in the transition. To avoid the unnecessary time and expense of replacing these elements, TriTek looks to leverage them where possible to maximize current and past human and financial investments.
Application Evolution Services
Upon completion of the technical design phase, the team develops a list of deliverables and the scope of effort required to complete those deliverables within a detailed project plan. Once quantified, a resource plan must be established to provide the required results. Quite often, clients assess these needs and may conclude that engaging outside resources is necessary to help complete the effort. This effort may involve any number of the following services.
- Tailoring the existing code to the P8 Java or COM API;
- Converting specific solution components developed using Visual WorkFlo tools, such as CDL files, into corresponding P8 components;
- API-based technical mentoring;
- Customizing reports or converting existing reports to the BPM Process Analyzer platform;
- Testing, training and documentation.
